After 23 years in the Royal Navy, this was a new venture for me.
As a mum to four children, I sat watching them at lessons, frustrated as they either walked across the pool, bobbed up and down or clung to the side, so with the latter two I decided to start early and taught them myself. I had lots of fun doing it and got lots of comments about their confidence, so thought that I could use this experience to pass on to others. I completed the Birthlight training course in Baby swimming - a soft and gentle approach to swimming. I also taught lessons for Tornadoes swimming club, of which all of my children swam for. I have a love of the water and believe it helps in may different ways, but think it is paramount that a child should gain water confidence at an early age and learn a life skill that will stay with them forever. I have gone on to complete a variety of aqua based courses and continue to build skills and knowledge.

I am a mummy of two young girls and I can honestly say bringing them to swimming lessons has been one of my proudest moments with them. We have bonded so much through playing and swimming together which is why I truly believe in teaching your babies to swim at an early age. I have been swimming since I was small and I then swam competitively at national level which pushed me to share my knowledge with the younger age groups. I am a qualified level 2 Swim England teacher and qualified in Adult and Child lessons. I have recently done my Junior aqua aerobics qualification which I can’t wait to use in our new pool. I regularly complete CPDs to keep up to date with my training. There isn’t one swimming lesson that I teach where I don’t come away feeling on top of the world. I really feel so lucky to have this job and I love watching you and your little ones shine. It is the most fantastic feeling and I love the small community we have already grown.
